Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home using a combined gross house income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or plan to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the nsfas check public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
